This post at Episcopal Cafe does an excellent job of summing up the story of D025 during its life on the floor of the House of Deputies.

I read the episcopal cafe link, and suffice it to say, I am still confused! Yes, we are Anglicans, but to remain that way “officially” what will be the cost? And how can we call ourselves Christians (much less Anglicans) if we allow that cost to be exacted? I find it sad and insulting to be labeled by other Christians as going against Scripture and Faith. If anything, the full inclusion of all the baptized in all of the church is a courageous action based on Scripture and a huge leap of faith that acknowledges God’s grace and love in the midst of all this chaos.
Comment by Stacy Walker-Frontjes July 14, 2009 @ 10:10 amAny insight as to why this is being billed as “opening the way to ordination for gays and lesbians”? The coverage makes it sound like priestly ordination was up for a moratorium or even discussion, and this resolution has “opened the path.” Unless I’m mistaken, that path has been open, at least in some dioceses, for a long time. Are we back-tracking here or moving forward? Its hard to tell from short articles read between crying fits. (the baby, not me! )
